born a poor sock puppet along the green banks of the Lipari Landfill in Pitman, New Jersey, USA. Environmental conditions at his home helped mutate Lester into a Wayang Kulit, or shadow puppet, and upon graduation from secondary school he moved to Bali. Lester disappeared into the shadows of Balinese puppetry for years, emerging as a marionette in Nusadua, Bali, for a poetry and dramatics "overlord," as Lester put it. Lester was able to cut his ties to his East Indian puppet master, sneaking off under cover of darkness with US troops who were being entertained by his own troop. Making it back to the US, Lester worked in the adult entertainment industry as first a towel boy in a San Francisco Castro district bath house, then as a warm-up prop for porn film sets in southern California, finally making his way to Austin TX where he was last seen in 1999 as an emcee at an airport topless dance facility. Since then Lester has allegedly gone "underground" in the internet pornography business. During that year, Lester decided to reinvent himself and really reach out and talk to people, but in his own special way, writing confrontational poetry and self-help manuals on the restoration of identity in addition to what he calls "therapeutic virtual sexertainment."
Lester's first book, Be Somebody, due to be released by Effing Press in April 2008, received several heapings of praise from acclaimed poet Ron Silliman in 2003.
The above image is from the only known photograph of Lester, taken when he was last seen at an associate's apartment in Austin, TX, in 1999. Lester remains in seclusion. Lester briefly maintained a blog he affectionately termed a "flogspot" but he seems to have vanished even from that effort.
